Best Steam Deck Accessories
Valve’s Steam Deck has quickly become the default handheld for modern AAA, indie and retro gaming. A do-it-all machine with a slick and intuitive interface, the Steam Deck has brought a new spotlight to the X86 handheld market.
The Asus ROG Ally has reinvigorated the X86 handheld market, bringing Zen 4 CPU cores and RDNA 3 graphics along with a high refresh panel to gamers on the go.
We’ve collated a list of the best accessories to pair with the ROG Ally (or, indeed, any X86 handheld). We’ve broken the products down into the following categories:
Cases & Protection
The Steam Deck already comes with a case, but you may want one with a different design or more additional storage options. You may also want to add a screen protector, thumb stick caps or a custom skin. We’ve listed some items you might find interesting below.

USB Docks & Hubs
The Steam Deck only features a single USB 3.2 Type-C port capable of 10Gbit/s speeds and up to 45W charging via USB power dleivery. If you want to charge the Deck while also outputing to an external monitor/game capture device, then you’ll need a USB dock or hub. Docks tend to be larger units that require external power, whereas hubs tend to be smaller “dongle-like” devices that can run (at least some of their functions) using the power of the host device (in this case the Steam Deck). Features to look out for are data transfer speed, power throughput and the type/number of connections. Below is our short list of devices that pair well with the Steam Deck.
